A NEW SURGICAL TECHNIÛUE İN EN BLOC RESECTION OF A COSTOVERTEBRAL CORNER CHONDROSARCOMA

We operated a male patient, 47 years old, who had a costovertebral corner chondrosarcoma between the sixth, seventh, and eighth thoracic vertebrae, which attacks the left lateral bodies, pedicules and laminae of the above mentioned vertebrae, with a new technique.

We totaty resected the 1/3 left lateral bodies, laminae, pedicules and costae betvveen the levels of 5 to 9 with safe surgical and pathological margins. After two vveeks, we performed a posterior fusion with CD Instru-mentation. After a follow-up of two years, the patient has no evidence of disease (NED).
