CONGENITAL KYPHOSIS

Congenital kyphosis is classified into three types as Type I (Failure of formation), Type II (Failure of segmentation) and Type III (Mixt type). Type I has the worst prognosis with the risk of spontaneous paraplegia. Exercise and brace treatment are ineffective. Type I should be followed closely and early surgery is recommended in order to prevent paraplegia.
