THE RESULTS OF POSTERIOR İNSTRUMENTATİON AND PLIF İN PATIENTS WITH SPINAL STENOSİS*

İn this study the results of posterior decompression, PLIF and posSerior instrumentation in 10 spinal stenosis patients whom were operated at the 1st Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Ankara Social Security Hospital were evaiuated. Of these patients 1 had posteriorly iocalized osteobiastoma, 2 had sypondyioarthrosis and 7 of them'had sypondylolisthesis. Six of the patients were female, 4 were male. Mean age vvas 48.1 and mean foiiow-up vvas 22.3 (12-48) months. Ali of the patients had severe back pain and their root or chord compression were demonstrated with radiological techniques. Eight of the patient had posterior instrumentation with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital System. Alıcı Spinal İnstrumentation was performed in a patient and Compact Cotrel-Dubousset İnstrumentation was also performed in a patient. Postoperatively ali back pain complaints except one were diminished. İn this patient a solid fusion mass was not observed and other patients had a soiid fusion mass. Paresthesis complaints of 3 patients and incontinence complaint of one patient totaiy improved postoperatively.
