Ernest-Charles Lasègue was a universally known French physician of the 19th century. He is a well- known scientist in the fields of neurology and psychiatry. He is also considered to be an epidemiologist and internist. The most common examination tool for spinal diseases, the sciatic nerve traction maneuver, is named after him.
